Colinas de São Lourenço Principal Rosé is a small part of a large
investment of Idealdrinks in wine production in Portugal. This young wine, which has only had two harvests so far (2009 and 2010), is already the cause of
national and international excitement and awe.
Unsurprisingly, the man behind the Idealdrinks project is Carlos
Dias, co-founder of luxury watch brand Roger
Dubuis. He seems to have transposed the same superior high-quality standards and
perfeccionism to his wine-making, which he achieved in great part by inviting
great French oenologist Pascal Chatonnet to be Idealdrinks’s consulting
oenologist for all of their products.
Tasting notes: excellent aromatic impact,
with notable elegance, structure and complexity, nuances of raspberries, dried
flowers and flint. With great delicacy on the palate and vibrant freshness,
this is a rosé full of class and character. It’s a very gastronomic dry wine
that the Italian critic from Spirito di
Vino pairs up with raw cod fish carpaccio. Principal Tête de Cuvée 2010 is
obtained from the first press of Pinot Noir grapes and should be drunk between
10ºC and 12ºC. To drink or keep from 2013 (estimated release in the market) up
to 2020.
